Energy Monitoring System: Energy meters may be connected in the network for monitoring the consumption online. The data at fixed interval may be collected. Reports may be generated periodically and send to all users through email.

Energy Accounting System:This one step further to Energy Monitoring Systems, It accounts the consumption with respect to a process. e.g. energy consumption per unit production. It may be used for efficiency monitoring and verification of a process also.

Energy Management System:It not only monitors the energy meters, temperatures , pressures , lux meters etc but controls the processes also.e.g. Switching the lights on when lux level is at lower threshold and switchoff on reaching upper threshold. Cutoff air conditioning once target temperature is reached etc. The system may incompass the imagination of an user.
